The Borough Most Thorough project began in 2008 and is now running on its consecutive year. Presented in partnership by the Scarborough Arts Council and Beatz 2 Da Streetz and in coordination with community partners: McGregor Community Centre, East Scarborough Boys and Girls Club, Heart Beatz, Toronto Public Library - Malvern Branch, Pro-Tech Media Lab at the Toronto Public Library - Kennedy/Eglinton Branch and Agincourt Community Services Association, The Borough Most Thorough is a series of fully immersive urban music creation workshops for youth ages 14-19. In 2010, The Borough Most Thorough welcomed Jennifer D. Fabico as its Program Coordinator and Dan-e-o as its Rap Instructor. Participants gained first-hand experience and explored the processes of writing, recording, production and performance for original tracks. The program culminated in the creation of a professionally produced album. For participating youth, TBMT 2010 reinforces the depth of cultural wealth that exists within themselves and their communities.
